The shield booster is expensive though has dropped in price by about 10 mil since I last bought one. It affords cap stability, while a regular T2 will cause you to cap out in a couple of minutes and boosts around 15hp less per cycle. The afterburner just gives me enough speed to make up for the general slowness of Caldari assault frigates compared to best named/t2.
I've tried using both rigs to plug the EM resist but it leaves you vulnerable to Warriors so this iteration has an explosive resist rig, it might not be perfect but does give you more of a chance of crawling back to a gate if you jump somewhere less than friendly :)
As with most ships you need to pick your targets. Minmatar assault frigates and commonly anti-frigate fit cruisers like Ruptures I avoid, RF EMP kills the shields too quick. Ishkur is 50:50 and very much depends on pilot skill and drone choice. Your everyday Caldari anti-frigate ships like Caracals with AMLs will typically die (slowly).
Hawk is even more tanky thanks to its shield boost bonus but meh... rockets

Interesting reading the various harpy fits out there :)
I have a couple of questions about skirmish fits - how does your typical target list break down? The way I see it a rifter, punisher or even a rocket kestrel could cause you problems. Do you avoid MWDing ships in general and kite bigger stuff? Similarly a flight of warrior II will chew you up surely? Do amarr ships with scorch mean time to GTFO?

Scorch = bad Drone = no concern.
I usually outfly most drones, Hobs hit your T2 resists, Warriors do some damagae but you go 2200 m/s in a Harpy.
Be carfuel when up against T1 frigs, they are quicker than you.
Hmm.. in my (exclusively blarpy) experience warriors have been the difference between me dying/running or winning a fight, particularly with ishkurs. Meds and bigger are no issue of course.
Is there ever a justification in going for 150mm rails? Only thing I could think was you'd be far enough down the list of priorities in an AF to be a reasonable anti-ewar platform? |
